Now Accepting Abstracts for the 97th Annual Meeting of the Society of Rheology

The 97th Annual Meeting of The Society of Rheology will take place in Boston during the week of October 25, 2026. We hope you can join us for this meeting of all things rheology!

Rheology Venture Fund

We are seeking your ideas to support our values and mission.

Do you have ideas on how we can increase our membership, bring rheology to kids, engage industry or be more inclusive? Up to $30k in funds is available, and we hope to fund two to four ventures. Deadline April 17, 2026

Rheology Research Student Symposium (RRSS)

The SoR Rheology Research Student Symposium (RRSS) will take place October 23-24, 2026, immediately before the 97th Annual SoR Meeting. All RRSS participants are eligible to receive travel grants to offset the costs of attending the RRSS and the Annual Meeting.

The RRSS aims to provide mentoring and professional development opportunities to students within The Society of Rheology. A sample program for the 2022 RRSS in Chicago can be found here . Applications will open in April and will be due at the same time as the oral abstract deadline (May 15th).

Future of Rheology Seminar Series – Call for Abstracts (Deadline: March 15)

Are you interested in sharing your research findings with the community? The “Future of Rheology” is a monthly virtual seminar series highlighting exciting research performed for early stage rheologists. On the last Thursday of each month, we hold two 20-minute virtual talks + 5 minutes of Q&A.

*Applicants do not need to be current members of the Society of Rheology to submit an abstract.

Soliciting Short Course Proposals

We are pleased to invite proposals for Short Courses to be offered in conjunction with the 2026 Society of Rheology Annual Meeting in Boston. We welcome proposals spanning a broad range of timely topics of interest to the rheology community. Instructors benefit from strong visibility within the community, an honorarium, and two nights of lodging before the conference. Courses are offered in a hybrid (in-person/virtual) format and may be recorded for inclusion in Rheology Academy, a planned online educational platform for Society members.

Expressions of interest at any stage are encouraged, including ideas for future years. Proposals for 2026 should be submitted by the mid of March via email to abhinendra.singh@case.edu and gilchrist@lehigh.edu . Also, see Short Courses

Biennial Workshop on Non-Newtonian Flow in Porous Media

The 3rd installment of the enjoyable biennial workshop on Non-Newtonian Flow in Porous Media will take place in Cargèse, Corsica, France, from May 11 to 15, 2026.

Soft Matter & Sensory Perception Summer School - July 2026

Following the great success of the first edition in 2024, we are delighted to organize a second Summer School on Soft Matter: From Fundamentals to Sensory Perception, which will take place at the beautifully located Institut d’Études Scientifiques de Cargèse in Corsica.
