Call for abstracts

We invite you to submit an abstract for presentation at the STLE 80th Annual Meeting and Exhibition to be held May 17 - 21, 2026 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans.

Dear Colleagues,

The Rheology Technical Committee is soliciting papers and presentations that will showcase rheology testing and analysis as it pertains to tribology. Rheology is the study of the flow and deformation of fluids and materials, which include liquids, semi-solids, and gels. The “lubrication” aspect of tribology is often supplemented through rheological analysis. There exist numerous types of rheology tests and analytical methods for better understanding the flow behavior of fuels, oils, greases, and other lubricants. These discussions are often included as part of a wider research scope within nearly every other Technical Session at STLE. The aim of this committee is to promote the awareness of rheological methods, as well as encourage discussions across several groups and disciplines. Whether you conduct research directly related to rheology, or used a rheological method as part of a tribological study we would like to encourage you to submit an abstract.

Examples of presentation topics include:
• Grease experimentation and analysis
• Fluid flow modeling and analysis
• Complex viscosity analysis
• Fluid thermal properties
• Rheology of complex or structured fluids
• Rheology of foaming, aeration, and emulsions
• Rheological test methods

Presentations and papers in all rheology-related areas are welcomed.

Please submit your abstracts through the STLE website at https://stle2026.abstractcentral.com and select “Rheology” as your preferred session. Abstracts should be 100-150 words (less than 1000 characters) and are due October 4, 2025 (Extended through end of November 2025). Abstracts are for 20 min or 40 min podium presentations.
