Nominations Open December 8, 2025
The nomination window typically opens in December with nominations due at the end of February. This cycle of nominations are due MARCH 13, 2026.
Guidelines for Nominations
The 2026 SoR Fellows will be selected by the Fellowship Committee, currently chaired by Maryam Sepehr, and confirmed by the SoR Executive Committee. Nominators will be informed of the outcome shortly thereafter. The 2026 Fellows will be named publicly on the website and in the Rheology Bulletin.
All nominations must be submitted using the form below and include:
- Nomination letter from someone other than the nominee.
- Two-page description of contributions to rheology and service to The Society.
- Curriculum vitae of the nominee containing a list of publications, patents, and other relevant information. For industrial nominees: Include a list of internal reports, products developed, and evidence of involvement in and promotion of rheology within the company. Additionally, you may highlight efforts to bring ideas and projects to the broader community, including as an example to universities for collaborative research. All submitted information will remain confidential and used solely for the purpose of this nomination.
- Citation (50 words or less), written by the nominator, which would be used in the event the nominee is elected fellow.
- “Highlights of Accomplishment” document (3000 character max) that will be used for web-biography of the Fellow should the nominee be selected.
- High-resolution headshot of the nominee suitable for publication. At least 400 pixels wide and 500 pixels high.
Nominations that are not successful in their first year will be automatically carried over for two additional years, after which they must be refreshed by a new submission, or they will be dropped from consideration.
SoR President, Vice President, and Past President are ineligible while serving on the Executive Committee.
All nominations are subject to the following rules:
- Only one new Fellow nomination for each nominator per year is allowed.
- Members of the SoR Fellowship Committee should not be involved in nominating a candidate.
- The SoR officer (president or past president) who set up the SoR Fellowship Committee is prohibited from nominating.
