Kalman Migler - Secretary
Kalman Migler
Dr. Kalman Migler is a staff scientist in the Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory at NIST, where he has worked for 30 years. His primary interest is in the measurement of non-equilibrium phenomena that occur during soft matter processing.Throughout his career he has brought advanced measurement techniques to polymer processing characterization with methods such as in-situ light scattering, frustrated total internal reflection, and the rheo-Raman-microscope. Before joining NIST, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Exxon’s Corporate Research with Dr. David Pine and at the Collège de France with Liliane Léger. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Brandeis University studying liquid crystal physics with Robert Meyer. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and The Society of Rheology. https://www.nist.gov/people/kalman-migler
