Sept 5, 2025: Postdoctoral Position – Rheology of biomimetic adhesive emulsions

Dear colleagues,

We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join us at IRPHE and IUSTI (Marseille, France) to work on the rheology of biomimetic adhesive emulsions. The work will be mainly experimental and includes advanced rheometer characterization and microfluidic flow measurements. The recruited postdoc will join a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, and interact with researchers in the field of machine learning for rheology and active mechanics of living tissues.

The position is funded under IMI AMU’s Call for Post-doctoral Projects: https://institut-imi.univ-amu.fr/en/calls-for-projects-offers/our-opportunities/call-post-doctoral-projects-ndeg6

July 2, 2025: Postdoctoral position at OIST, Okinawa, Japan - Microfluidics and Rheology

Dear Colleagues,

A postdoctoral research position is available in the Micro/Bio/Nanofluidics Unit at OIST in Okinawa, Japan (https://www.oist.jp/research/research-units/mbnu ). The successful candidate will join a very active interdisciplinary group in microfluidics and rheology, led by Dr. Amy Shen and Dr. Simon Haward. The successful candidate should work in one of the interlinked areas in the group: (i) Microfluidics; (ii) Rheology; (iii) Biosensing.

The position is initially for two years and can be extended to 1-2 more years based on performance and mutual agreement. The position will start as early as September 1, 2025.

Key Requirements

Candidates should have a PhD in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering physics, or a related discipline. Prior experience in rheology, micro/nanofluidics, micro/nanofabrications, flow visualization, or numerical simulations/CFD is preferred. Candidates will work in a multidisciplinary group of engineers, physicists, chemists, and biologists. Peer-reviewed publications in high quality journals are a must.

Please submit the following documents to Professor Amy Shen at “amy.shen@oist.jp ”. We will contact you by email If your skills and research experience match the job profile.

1. Curriculum vita including names of 3 referees
